Non-Traditional Families. By SEO Admin on March 16, 2012

In this modern world, the term family has expanded far beyond its traditional definition. No longer do the constraints of marriage, gender or sexual orientation determine who can or cannot become a parent. We are proud and honored to play a role in this new and exciting frontier of parenthood.

At our center, we have a long history of helping patients in many types of relationships achieve their goal of starting or growing a family.

In same sex female relationships we can assist by:

  1. Performing intrauterine insemination with known or anonymous donor sperm.

  2. Coordinating and performing in-vitro fertilization with known or anonymous donor sperm. In this circumstance, some patients also choose for one partner to serve as the source for eggs and the other to carry the pregnancy. This way both parents have a biological connection to the child.

In same sex male relationships, we can assist by:

  1. Performing intrauterine insemination with a traditional surrogate.

  2. Performing IVF with an egg donor and gestational surrogate. In this circumstance, patients may choose to fertilize the eggs with sperm from both partners. This way if more than 1 embryo is transferred into the surrogate, each partner can achieve a biological child.

These are just some of the more common ways that we can assist our patients. Importantly, we individualize care to each person we see. If you have any questions about your specific case, please feel free to contact us on 818-881-9800, we would be happy to help.
