How to Manage IVF Side Effects during Treatment

Adverse Reactions

The most common adverse reactions are ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, or OHSS, and multiple pregnancies (conception of twins or more). With prompt treatment, OHSS poses little risk. Other adverse reactions may include:

- Temporary visual impairment
- Heart attack or stroke
- Allergic reactions
If you think you are experiencing an adverse reaction, seek immediate medical treatment from your nearest emergency room. Inform the ER nurses and doctors of the IVF medications you are taking, and make them aware that your symptoms may be an adverse reaction to the drug.
